چکیده

In the present pandemic time, face masks are found to be most effective strategy against spread of virus within community. As aerosol-based spreading is considered as primary mode transmission, interaction with incoming droplets needs understood thoroughly for an usage among public. work, we explore interactions over commonly used 3-ply surgical masks. A detailed study wetting signature, adhesion, and impact dynamics water microbe-laden carried out both sides mask. We that interfacial characteristics mask very similar front back side Further, in anticipated attempt reduce have tested a superhydrophobic coating. It coating may not best choice regular it can give rise number smaller daughter linger air longer times contribute transmission potential viral loads.

Impact of the Ga Droplet Wetting, Morphology, and Pinholes on the Orientation of GaAs Nanowires

Ga-catalyzed growth of GaAs nanowires on Si is a candidate process for achieving seamless III/V integration on IV. In this framework, the nature of silicon’s surface oxide is known to have a strong influence on nanowire growth and orientation and therefore important for GaAs nanowire technologies. We show that the chemistry and morphology of the silicon oxide film controls liquid Ga nucleation ...

Effects of geometrical characteristics of surface roughness on droplet wetting.

Surface roughness is known to alter the wettability on a solid substrate. In general, either Wenzel or Cassie-Baxter theory is adopted to describe the apparent contact angle. Following the minimum free energy pathway associated with the imbibition process, we have derived a generalized expression for the apparent contact angle on a textured surface and the liquid-gas contact area within the gro...

Droplet Spreading: Partial Wetting Regime Revisited

We study the time evolution of a sessile liquid droplet, which is initially put onto a solid surface in a nonequilibrium configuration and then evolves towards its equilibrium shape. We adapt here the standard approach to the dynamics of mechanical dissipative systems, in which the driving force, i.e., the gradient of the system’s Lagrangian function, is balanced against the rate of the dissipa...

Dynamics of electro-wetting droplet transport

A model is formulated to describe the dynamics of electro-wetting-induced transport of liquid droplets. The velocity of droplet transport as a function of actuation voltage is derived. The operating parameters include the viscosity of the droplet and the medium through which it actuates, contact-line friction, system geometry, and surface tension. Numerical coefficients are extracted from exper...

Role of Plasma Surface Treatments on Wetting and Adhesion

There are many current and emerging wetting and adhesion issues which require an additional surface processing to enhance interfacial surface properties. Materials which are non-polar, such as polymers, have low surface energy and therefore typically require surface treatment to promote wetting of inks and coating. One way of increasing surface energy and reactivity is to bombard a polymer surf...
